Research aid for agricultural seeds
The European Commission has approved aid which the Dutch authorities intend to grant for applied research in the agricultural seeds sector.The aid will be financed by two parafiscal taxes, one levied on seeds grown in the Netherlands on a hectare basis, the other levied on the turnover of seed trading enterprises.With respect to the second tax, the Dutch authorities gave assurances that there is no taxation of imports from other Member States because the part of the turnover based on these imports is excluded from taxation on the level of the individual company.
