Nuclear science and technology report: Annual progress report 1993
The European Commission has published a report entitled "Community's research and development programmes on radioactive waste management and storage - shared cost actions (1990-1994)". The report covers the progress of research work and activities started and developed during 1993 in the framework of the five-year programme (1990-1994) of the European Atomic Energy Community on "Management and storage of radioactive waste". The programme is subdivided along the following lines: - Waste management and associated R&D projects: . Studies and management systems; . Waste treatment; . Safety of the multi-barrier system of geological disposal; - Construction and/or operation of underground facilities. The report contains contact details of all the 100 projects which were operational in 1993. It also deals with the study of management systems, treatment and characterization of waste, general aspects of waste disposal and the safety of geological disposal systems as well as activities on the construction and operation of underground facilities.
