CORDIS RTD-Partners: Updated to provide a better service
The CORDIS RTD-Partners database has recently been updated in order to provide a better service to users. All database users with entries over a year old were contacted with a view to ensuring the currency and accuracy of the information. RTD-Partners is essentially a partner search service through which interested organizations can either place a request for partnership or review the existing requests on the database. The RTD-Partners database is accessed by a wide range of institutions and is increasingly being used to find partners for projects undertaken within the European Commission's Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development. By placing an entry on RTD-Partners, you can promote your specific partnership request or areas of expertise to a large number of potential organizations. The entries on the RTD-Partners database are updated regularly to include the new partnership requests submitted every month. In addition, CORDIS carries out a yearly update of the database, to ensure that all records are kept up-to-date. Address details, contact persons or even the RTD-Programme of interest are amongst the topics which are subject to change. As a result of the recently completed 1995 update cycle, one third of the existing records will shortly be removed. The total number of records will thus be reduced from 24,000 to 16,500. This will mean that although the database itself will be smaller, it will include more up-to-date information. Those organizations still wishing to amend their record or to submit a new record to the database are kindly asked to fill in a new entry form. Any feedback on partnerships or projects resulting from the use of this database would also be gratefully received.
