The European Commission, DG XVI, has published a post-information notice concerning an open call for tenders, launched on 19 July 1996, for the provision of assistance with the implementation of the European programme on inter-regional cooperation and innovative development actions (Article 10 of the ERDF Regulation) (OJ No C 185 of 19.7.1995).

The European Commission sought to enlist the support of 2 organizations with an international vocation and, preferably, from a grouping, to assist it with the implementation of pilot projects in the fields of:

- A. Innovative regional and local actions;
- B. Internal interregional cooperation;

A total of seven tenders were received for each of these two areas. A contract worth ECU 1,568,900, was awarded for Area A., on 27 December 1995, to:
