Funding of research training grants under the TMR programme
Over 5,000 applications for research training grants were received under the first (OJ No C 12 of 17.1.1995 p. 22) and second (OJ No C 148 of 15.6.1995 p. 37) calls for proposals for the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of the training and mobility of researchers (TMR) (1994-1998). Following evaluation, 863 of these applications have now been accepted for funding. These are divided among the various grant categories as follows: - Post-graduate level grants (B20): 181; - Post-doctoral level grants (B30): 583; - Experienced researchers (B40): 21; - Return grants (B-R): 78. The distribution of grants by subject area is as follows: - Mathematics: 68; - Physics: 188; - Chemistry: 117; - Life sciences: 287; - Earth sciences: 37; - Engineering sciences: 59; - Economics: 107.
