INNOVATION programme - Guidebook for the project definition phase
The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a "Guidebook for the project definition phase" intended to serve as a planning aid for the implementation of technology validation and technology transfer projects (TVPs and TTPs), financed within the framework of the Community's INNOVATION programme for the dissemination and exploitation of RTD results. The INNOVATION programme has adopted a two-phased approach for the implementation of TVPs and TTPs, consisting of a "definition phase" and an "implementation phase". The definition phase is aimed at verifying the technical and economic viability of the project and drawing up detailed plans for implementation and financing. Projects having successfully completed the definition phase may then move on to the main implementation phase. The definition phase work is intended to help proposers to structure their project, find additional partners, verify the IPR through the QUICK SCAN facility and reduce the risks associated with implementation. The Guidebook is intended to serve as a planning aid, providing guidelines for the successful management of the "definition phase" and for the planning of the later "implementation phase".
