Examining GTI public awareness
Through support of the EVI-GTI, the EU can build a response to the challenge in the advanced sensors and sensor system technology. It can also heighten the visibility of EU competence in this critical market sector. EVI-GTI does not seek to develop instrumentation but rather to pioneer teaming arrangements and EU centres of excellence. There are fundamental means employed to guarantee public awareness. These include The EVI-GTI public website, promotional materials, exhibiting at sector shows, call for participation, personal contacts, publications, conferences and workshops. These contacts have made an impact which can be shown via the web statistics for the website. A steady rise can be seen in the number of visits to the EVI-GTI website over the period under review. Also, during the course of the project an array of promotional materials have been produced. These include editions 1, 2 and 3 of the EVI-GTI newsletter, an EVI-GTI flyer, 2 exhibition brochures, a new member's leaflet, partner and member organisations and R & D areas. Exhibitions at trade shows have also taken place which have allowed potential customers direct access in order to discuss their individual needs.
