The Statistical Office of the European Communities (EUROSTAT) has published an invitation to tender for the provision of services in the statistical field (CPC number 864). The work to be carried out falls within the Framework Programme for Priority Actions in the Statistical Field 1993-1997, and relates to the "Sectoral programmes for environmental policy" field. The tender will, more specifically, involve services relating to the development of agricultural and environmental statistics and indicators within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy and the Community Environmental Action Programme. The contract will initially be awarded for a period of one year, but is renewable for four further periods of one year, subject to availability of funds and satisfactory provision of the services. The provision of these services requires frequent contact with EUROSTAT services in Luxembourg and attendance at conferences in Luxembourg. Coordination with other services of the Commission in Brussels and with the statistical services of Member States of the EU, along with the OECD, FAO and the European Environmental Agency will be required.
