The European Commission, DG III, has published an invitation to tender for the production of a "European best practice in innovation" package. Best practice examples of the successful implementation of innovation can help companies introduce change in a measured and effective manner. The European Commission proposes to award a contract to develop a multimedia package for use by local actors in seminars. The package should enable companies to understand and learn from businesses in other Member States who have successfully implemented innovation. The work involves the design and production of a package of training tools to disseminate best practice in industrial innovation. The package should, at least, contain the following: - A booklet describing the potential importance of innovation for industrial competitiveness, including the potential contribution of research; - A video of best practice in innovation management; - A selection of training tools for use by managers during the proposed seminars; - A training of trainers package for local actors providing them with suggested formats for "innovation best practice" seminars. The contractor will be required to conduct a short questionnaire survey of at least 100 regional innovation support agencies in the initial months of the contract, in order to assess their needs in terms of a support package. They will also be required to pilot the draft package and to develop and implement a dissemination strategy for the entire package of tools, in order to ensure widespread awareness and take-up. The contract should be completed within one year. Tender documents may be obtained from: European Commission DG III - Industry Mr. Joao Barbedo Unit A/5 - Research, innovation, Information Society: Industrial aspects 200 rue de la Loi (SC-15 4/62) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2968627; Fax +32-2-2968867 Completed tenders should be sent to the above address.
