The European Commission, DG XVI, has published a restricted invitation to tender for the completion of a study on the environmental dimension of projects financed by the Cohesion Fund in each of the recipient states. The study concerns the drafting of a report on the evaluation of the environmental dimension of projects cofinanced by the Cohesion Fund in each recipient state. The report will show the qualitative and quantitative contribution of the Fund's action in attaining objectives defined in the European Community Programme of Policy and Action in relation to the Environment and Sustainable Development. The report must analyse the projects per sector by identifying the environmental problems it proposes to resolve, as well as the strategy adopted by national authorities and the Commission. Information will be gathered from existing dossiers at the Directorate for the Cohesion Fund in Brussels and at national authorities and project promoters. The tenderer must select the projects to be highlighted, considered to be 'success stories', using data before and after carrying out the project and analysing the effectiveness of projects in terms of environmental protection and improvement. Applications to be included in this restricted invitation to tender should be sent to: European Commission DG XVI - Regional Policy and Cohesion Mr. J.-F. Verstrynge - Director Directorate E - Cohesion Fund 200 rue de la Loi (CSM1 7/63) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2951147; Fax +32-2-2961748
