Telematics technologies applied to the environment: a 15-year perspective
The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a study on "Telematics technologies applied to the environment - a 15-year perspective". The purpose is to: - Study the emerging and enabling technologies which can be used in the next generation of environment telematics systems; - Provide an analysis and recommendations of both state-of-the-art technologies and the emerging/enabling technologies which can be used as input for the ongoing and upcoming RTD&D projects in the telematics for the environment area; - Describe their potential, main features and shortcomings. A series of potential scenarios and related ICT technology requirements will be drawn up and analyzed for market potential against a set of criteria. These scenarios will help the Commission in preparing new actions in support of future research, technological development and demonstration activities.
