The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender for services relating to the collection and analysis of data for the years 1997, 1998, and 1999 on the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances. In the context of Community policy to reduce and phase out the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances and its commitments under the Montreal Protocol and Council Regulation 3093/94 as amended or superseded, the European Commission intends to conclude framework contracts to support the Commission services in the collection of data on ozone-depleting substances and the analysis of statistical trends in that data. The services to be provided include: - Collecting data for the European Community on the annual production and use, including stocks and imports/exports of the ozone-depleting substances CFCs, halons, HCFCs and methyl bromide, as shown in Annex I to Council Regulation 3093/94; - Aggregating that data into standardized data sets and reporting annual data to the European Commission by 30 March of the following year. In addition, reporting quarterly data each year to an agreed timetable; - Updating annually a report detailing historical data and analysing trends in the production and use in the European Community of CFCs, halons, carbon tetrachloride, 1,1,1 - trichloroethane, HCFCs and methyl bromide; - Updating annually a statistical factsheet to provide the Commission with a summary of the information on production and use of controlled ozone-depleting substances within the European Community.
