RiskDRIVER assesses project risks
'In research, business, government, or any other sphere of activity, projects are always exposed to risks: the risk of delays and cost overruns, the risk of quality and performance problems, and the risk of failure', say the event organisers.
Risk management therefore calls for a systematic, proactive approach to identify, assess, and prioritise project risks; to plan mitigation actions and contingency budgets; to monitor risks during the course of a project; and to capitalise knowledge and experience for future projects, they say.
The conference will be of interest to professionals responsible for project planning, management and decision-making in all sectors. The morning session features a keynote presentation by Ned Robins of OPL UK and the University of Warwick, a recognised authority on project risk management.
Parallel afternoon sessions will focus on specific application areas such as IT projects, European R&D, construction, defense, and finance. Each round table is led by an expert moderator who will present its conclusions in the final plenary session. An exhibition area will also display tools for risk analysis, project and quality management, testing, and simulation.
