ONLINE EDUCA ASIA - International conference on technology supported learning

Following the success of the first ONLINE EDUCA ASIA conference in September 1996, a second edition is already planned for 1-3 September 1997. As with this year's conference, which attracted over 500 participants from more than 40 countries, ONLINE EDUCA ASIA 1997 will take place in Singapore.

One of the primary objectives of the conference is to provide a forum for dialogue between the educational and training community on the one hand, and the educational, media/technology industry on the other. Participants will be presented with practical applications and case studies drawn from all educational and training sectors.

Among the topics to be discussed will be:

- Online learning and the intranet for the corporate sector, including:
. Sectoral internet for certain industries;
. Community internet for certain communities;
. Audio/video on demand;
. Subscription internet for consumers in education and training;

- Novel uses of online learning;
- Virtual universities and questions of branding;
- Corporate universities and questions of branding;
- Areas crossing the divides between university and corporate learning;
- Content provision;
- Chief knowledge/learning officers;
- Training of trainers.

The event is supported, among others, by DGs XIII (Telecommunications, information market and exploitation of research) and XXII (Education, training and youth) of the European Commission.
