The fourth European Telework Week will be the focus of events held all over Europe, between 2 and 9 November 1998. Telework Week was launched in 1995 as an initiative of the European Commission, DG XIII, in order to support industry, administrations and other interested organizations.
Telework Week is the focal point of many activities going on throughout the year, which aim to promote understanding of telework and its considered implementation. It provides an opportunity for organizations wishing to promote telework market development and to support a pan-European showcase of information, new ideas and practice. It also gives participating organizations an opportunity to meet others interested in this topic.
Over 300 events, involving more than 10,000 people took place during Telework Week 1997, and an even greater number are expected to be organized in 1998. Following its introduction in 1997 the European Telework Award contest will take place again, culminating in an award ceremony on 6 November 1998, in Brussels. This and other events throughout Europe will be broadcast on the Internet.
