At a business level, the economic impact depends upon a mixture of the company's behaviour (in-active, re-active, pro-active) and structural constraints (flexibility, innovation, etc.). Therefore, the most important task for SMEs is to re-focus their business strategy, using the arrival of the Euro to extend their market. Hence, individual SMEs could find themselves in a more powerful position if they reorganise specific services and use a network approach. SMEs can gain economic benefits from the legal instruments available to cope with the changeover. Since they are not often acquainted with these instruments, the only way for them to be competitive on the market is to have at their disposal information tools that help in the decision-making process.
