A report including the following information: • The detailed description of the modelling of existing automations that will be simulated. • The detailed description of the modelling of upcoming automations that will be simulated. • The code pertaining to the integration in SUMO. • The technical details of the interface extensions for SUMO and iTETRIS. • The results of the baseline simulations including first iteration scenarios that will serve as a reference for the assessment of the effects of TM procedures. Suitability and effectiveness study of traffic management strategies

This report contains descriptions and implementations (programmed/scripted) of traffic management measures adapted to a more fully developed simulation setting, in order to be directly used in WP6. The revised version in M33 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration, esp. by taking into account any changes that are necessary to adapt the TM measures based on feedback from WP6. Overview of existing and enhanced traffic management procedures

This report describes the state-of-the-art traffic management procedures and how they can be enhanced in light of autonomous vehicles and Transition Areas. Assessment of traffic management procedures in Transition Areas

Report on the results of the evaluation of the TM procedures. This report contains: • A presentation of the simulation results obtained in Task 6.2 so far. • An interpretation of the results eventually indicating issues with the proposed TM procedures. • Guidance for real world implementations, e.g., which virtual components can already be considered as blue-prints in the current state. The revised version in M40 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration, esp. by presenting the simulation results obtained in Task 6.2 in the second iteration. Preliminary simulation and assessment of enhanced traffic management measures

This deliverable entails both simulation code and a report that describes the simulation setup and execution, as well as the assessment of the various use cases (via the safety and efficiency indicators) with respect to traffic management of automated driving at Transition Areas. Use cases and safety and efficiency metrics for smooth and safe traffic flow in Transition Areas

A review of the state-of-the-art of vehicle automations and situations where transition of control occurs regularly and causes traffic flow disruption. By means of detailed use case descriptions, the deliverable gives a comprehensive overview on (negative) traffic safety and traffic efficiency impacts, for both urban and inter-urban situations, and proposes a preliminary set of TM interventions. Cooperative manoeuvring in the presence of hierarchical traffic management

A report including the following information: • A detailed description of the actions and interactions of connected and automated vehicles per use case and traffic management plan. • Overview on the adaptations of the AV and driver models made in T3.4 during the simulations of the first iteration. The revised version in M30 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration, esp. the overview on the adaptations of the AV and driver models made in T3.4 during the simulations of the second iteration. Guideline and Roadmap

The guideline and roadmap will be published as a discussion and position paper that addresses traffic management interventions to support highly automated vehicles at or near Transition Areas, including recommendations and steps to be taken by stakeholders. Dissemination type: PU (public)

Definition of V2X message sets

Specification of V2X message sets enabling the exchange of advanced information between (connected and automated) vehicles and between (connected and automated) vehicles and the road infrastructure. Revised version also based on inputs from T5.2 and T5.3, and according to the requirements added in the second iteration. The revised version in M24 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration, esp. by taking into account the updated requirements. Protocols for reliable V2X message exchange

Report on the design and evaluation of novel V2X communications and networking schemes for the reliable exchange of V2X messages between vehicles and hybrid infrastructure in Transition Areas. Dissemination type: PU (public)

Scenario definitions and modelling requirements

A report on the set of network definition files and configuration files to enable modelling activities in WP3-5 (fact sheets as well as network and configuration files loadable into the traffic simulation SUMO) and a catalogue of requirements to AV models and communications. The revised version in M18 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration. It will also include findings of the stakeholder survey performed in T8.2. V2X-based cooperative sensing and driving in Transition Areas

Report on the novel cooperative sensing mechanisms designed and evaluated for the detection and identification of conventional, connected and automated vehicles. The report will also include the design and specification of the V2X message flows between vehicles, and between vehicles and the road infrastructure necessary to implement the cooperative driving manoeuvres specified in the TM procedures designed in WP4. The revised version in M30 will update this deliverable by including the corresponding information for the second iteration, esp. by taking into account the updated requirements. An integrated platform for the simulation and the assessment of traffic management procedures in Transition Areas

Report on the simulation platform describing: • The technical details of coupling the different components of the simulation. • User guidelines for setting up a simulation with the desired parameters. • The technical details of the TM interface, the indicator tools, and the statistics module. • User guidelines for setting up the TM procedures and assessing the simulation results with the statistics module.
