Methodology on spatial analysis in front-runner and follower cities

The methodology guides the local consortia in FRC and FC in their spatial analysis of the urban regeneration areas to achieve comparable results.

Guidelines for upscaling

Instructions will be provided to cities regarding the temporal and spatial upscaling of the NBS assessment. This is important considering that in the lifetime of the project NBS can be implemented and monitored only on small spatial and temporal scales, thus cities should be able to monitor effectiveness of NBS also after the end of the project and when NBS are realised on large areas.

The second implementation monitoring report updates the information on NBS implementation in the LLs.

Report on the FCs' stakeholders set-up

A local stakeholder group in every FC will be established. The local stakeholder groups will assist task 5.2 in identifying and tackling administrative barriers at local level, a key requirement in preparing the local urban plans for the replication of NBS.

Report on benefits produced by implemented NBS

An intermediate report will provide the preliminary results about effectiveness of the implemented NBS and will allow to possibly improve the NBS plan for the future of the project. An accurate quantification of the benefits produced will be released at the end of the project.

Final report on co-design workshops in FRC

The deliverable will report on the stakeholder ideas and contributions about the transformation of the NBS tested in LLs into business models.

Replication Analysis Report

The report will reflect the main outcomes of the 1st and 2nd round of replication events with a focus on the learnings for both FCs and external cities, will report on replication in FRC and reflect on replication within the same city and beyond the city borders and will also summarize lessons learnt for local planning processes undertaken in the frame of Task 2.3.

Mid-term report on the implement-tation process of the urban plans

coincides with the delivery month of D4.5 guidelines to upscaling, which allows the FC to (i) obtain and share information and knowledge on temporal and spatial upscaling of NBS, thus (ii) allowing them to adapt the ongoing process of development of the urban plans in line with the projects’ objectives.

Implementation Monitoring report 1

The first implementation monitoring report will reflect the state of NBS implementation in M25 of the project and allows the risk management of the further implementation activities. It will inform the preparation of the monitoring of NBS benefits (WP 4)

Guidelines for co-designing and co-implementing green infrastructure in urban regeneration processes

A first draft of the 'Guidelines for co-designing and co-implementing green infrastructure in urban regeneration processes' will outline the basic steps to be taken to bring the relevant stakeholders together and facilitate their interaction in a result-oriented way tailored to the interests and needs of different groups of the society. Special attention will be dedicated to marginalised and vulnerable groups in order to lower social, cultural, physical, language or other barriers which could compromise their equal participation. Through the first round of workshops it will be further differentiated and adapted to the specific needs of each FRC.

Business model catalogue

The business model catalogue is a key deliverable of the project and will present the economic and societal benefits of NBS and how they can be implemented in fully or partly self-sustaining business models.

Collective scheme/report of technological and non-technological barriers

The deliverable will present a synopsis of barriers which need to be overcome for a better implementation of NBS in urban regeneration.

Roadmap towards urban planning in FC

coincides with the start of the assessment of NBS in FRC (tasks 4.1 – 4.4). The methodology will be developed in cooperation with WP 4 and WP 6 and integrate the findings and conclusions identified in FRC.

Report on workshop round 1 in FRC

The report presents the city-specific stakeholders for urban regeneration who have been identified in the FRC and how they can be integrated in the co-design process for NBS.

The report will sum up the co-design activities the FRC have undertaken with citizens and stakeholders in the second round of co-design workshops.

A monitoring and assessment plan to evaluate effectiveness of the implemented NBS will be established. The plan will include information about the stakeholders involved in this process.

Report on non-technological barriers within the project

The report will describe the non-technological barriers identified among the proGIreg stakeholders, especially the FRC

The deliverable will report on the stakeholder ideas and contributions to NBS in the Ningbo LL.

Report on common methodology for implementation incl. sample templates for monitoring

The common methodology for implementation will guide the FRC in planning, organizing and communicating the implementation of NBS in their LLs. It sets common standards which will be locally adapted by the cities.

mid-term conference in Turin

The conference will present the project progress and visit the NBS implementation sites in Turin, to exchange approaches and NBS tested in the LLs, and to update the project’s working process in relation to the replication and information needs of the global proGIreg network. In case of an online event, site visits will be replaced by appropriate media for presenting the LL and giving a voice to the local stakeholders.

The final version of all MOOC material is published on the edX platform to serve for further runs of the course.

Final conference in Zagreb

Dissemination event will be the opportunity for the global proGIreg network to discuss the final results of proGIreg and visit the implementation sites for NBS in Zagreb, to exchange approaches and NBS, that were performed during 5 years inside the different LLs. At this conference the market-ready NBS and the business model catalogue will be presented.

Protocols of measurements

Protocols of measurements including baseline and project follow-up will be set in order to homogenise the data collected from the different cities. Indicators will be set here based on the EWG assessment framework on NBS. Protocols will include the collection of existing information from the cities where available and when considered useful.

Development of standardised questionnaires addressing technological and non-technologocial barriers

The standardize questionnaires will be used to collect information on barriers on NBS implementation from the stakeholders involved in proGIreg.
