Podnoszenie świadomości na temat badań naukowych w Słowenii
Brak zrozumienia dla pracy naukowców w zakresie poprawy jakości życia oraz ugruntowane dawno temu stereotypy sprawiają, że badania w dziedzinie humanistyki są we współczesnym świecie marginalizowane. W związku z tym finansowany ze środków Unii Europejskiej projekt Humanities Rocks ma za zadanie zbliżyć do siebie naukowców i resztę społeczeństwa, zwiększając przez to świadomość na temat badań i innowacji oraz zachęcając młodych ludzi do rozpoczęcia kariery naukowej. Uniwersytet Lublański, który w 2019 roku świętował 100-lecie powstania, zorganizuje szereg najróżniejszych wydarzeń. Będą one skierowane do wszystkich mieszkańców, w tym dzieci, młodzieży i osób starszych, a kampania uświadamiająca obejmie konkursy publiczne dla młodzieży, prezentacje naukowców w szkołach w całej Słowenii, a także osobisty kontakt z mediami.
Cel
The objective of HUMANITIES ROCK is to bring researchers closer to the general public and to increase awareness of research and innovation activities, with a view to supporting the public recognition of researchers, creating an understanding of the impact of researchers' work on citizen’s daily life, and encouraging young people to embark on research careers. The University of Ljubljana consists of 26 faculties and academies from all fields of science, will celebrate 100 years of its existence next year. Despite well-established communication with the public in the past, particularly humanities are becoming marginalized, if not neglected, not only in the increasingly commercialized public space, but also within the research. The general disvalue of research importance is partly a consequence of the misperception of the researchers’ work, persisting stereotypes and underestimation of the role of research results for improving the quality of life for everyone. With the activities and events on 28 September 2018 in 27 September 2019, we are aiming to improve the perception and reputation of researcher profession in public and their work. The event will target the public at large: children and youth, families and older people. The preceding awareness campaign will comprise the public competition among young people, the accompanying researchers` presentations in schools across Slovenia and the establishment of personal contacts with media representatives. The researchers will be the stars of the night, but at the same time they will be presented on stage as ordinary people with extraordinary jobs. The HUMANITIES ROCK! project will offer many different and attractive events and activities in Ljubljana for children and students, families and adults. The proposed activities are consist of presentations, field trips, workshops, exhibitions, discussions and presentations, experiments, open days, a film festival, and the final award ceremony with a music concert.
