Producing more crops while simultaneously reducing inputs through Precision Agriculture (PA) will be the driving force for sustainably meeting the needs of the EU’s environmental policies. Frontier Conect has developed an “all-in-one” agricultural device called Teraseya Prime to facilitate intelligent agriculture. The device features multiple precision sensors for the measurement of the soil, air, and weather, as well as insect detection capabilities based on the attraction of insects using pheromones and sparkling lights. The hardware is complemented by associated software for farm management. Through its capabilities for early insect detection and fungal prediction, combined with its customized recommendations regarding corrective actions, Tereseya Prime can help farmers minimize the impact of pests and diseases, and to optimize the use of inputs. Trials accomplished in 2019-2020 demonstrated a 15% reduction of inputs combined with 8% crop yield increases.
The key objectives of this project were to complete market and commercial feasibility assessments to confirm market receptivity to Teraseya Prime and to update the commercial strategy. This phase also involved a technical feasibility assessment to validate the product functionalities, and an intellectual property analysis to update the strategy regarding patents and trademarks. Furthermore, a risk assessment was developed, to clarify potential risks and identify risk mitigation strategies.
