Jak bezpiecznie sprowadzić na ziemię samolot bez pilota?
Zawsze istnieje ryzyko, że podczas lotu pilot utraci zdolność do pilotowania statku powietrznego. Wprawdzie zdarza się to bardzo rzadko, ale jeśli już do tego dojdzie, zwłaszcza w samolocie z załogą jednoosobową, staje się to ogromnym zagrożeniem dla bezpieczeństwa. Pilot może utracić zdolność do wykonywania czynności podczas lotu z różnych powodów, np. w wyniku chorób przewodu pokarmowego lub nawet śmierci. Głównym celem finansowanego przez UE projektu SAFELAND jest opracowanie niezwykle potrzebnego rozwiązania, które umożliwiałoby sterowanie i lądowanie statkiem powietrznym z załogą jednoosobową w sytuacji częściowej lub pełnej niedyspozycji pilota. Podczas 30 miesięcy realizacji projektu jego zespół będzie analizować możliwości sterowania statkiem powietrznym przez kontrolera ruchu lotniczego z dostępem do systemów automatyki na pokładzie i/lub pilota znajdującego się na ziemi, pilotującego samolot za pośrednictwem zdalnego kokpitu. Zespół projektu stworzy symulator kokpitu imitujący rzeczywiste warunki lotu, system kontroli ruchem, symulator kokpitu do kierowania statkiem powietrznym z ziemi oraz symulator centrum zarządzania ruchem lotniczym.
Cel
The SAFELAND project aims at supporting flight and landing of aircraft operated by a single pilot, in case of partial or total incapacitation of the pilot. SAFELAND will focus on the ground side and in particular on the role ATM could have in managing the transition from a single pilot operated flight to a status with reduced or absent contribution of the onboard pilot to landing. SAFELAND will investigate the interaction of the air traffic controller with onboard automation and/or a ground based pilot operating through a remote cockpit position to manage the flight. The concept will be evaluated at main phases of its development with different evaluation techniques including a real time simulation integrating a cockpit simulator, a control work position, a ground cockpit simulator and a simulated Airline Operation Control Centre. Evaluation will investigate different aspects including human factor, safety, security and cybersecurity, legal, economic and regulatory. SAFELAND results will be communicated and disseminated ensuring scientific links and exchange of information, data and results with research initiatives in different framework programme and in particular with the single pilot studies of CleanSky. The project will last 24 months followed by other 6 months exclusively dedicated to Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation.
