Agriculture and fisheries: Food Project Synopsis
The European Commission, DG XII, has recently published a catalogue containing synopses of agriculture and fisheries projects called " Agriculture and fisheries: Food Project Synopses". It has been compiled for both general and specialist readers as a reference book covering work carried out from 1994-1998 under the Fourth Framework Programme. The book provides details for all projects relevant to food and nutrition research which were selected and funded under the FAIR programme. It contains information on generic science and advanced technologies for nutritious food and an index of the following projects: - Consumer nutrition and well being; - New and optimised food materials and nutritious food products; - Advanced and optimised food materials and nutritious food products; - Generic food science. The book also contains an index of projects by contract number, by project participant and by keywords. The catalogue is intended to be a useful reference tool as the Fifth Framework Programme approaches, bringing an increased emphasis on the role of food in improving the quality of life for European consumers.
