Decision for the Czech Republic to participate in framework programmes
The Association Council has agreed a Decision between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Czech Republic, of the other part, to adopt the terms and conditions for the participation of the Czech Republic in the Community Programme in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Decision was taken on 25 November 1998. The Decision means the Czech Republic may participate in Community Framework Programmes, specific programmes, projects or other Community actions, notably in the field of SMEs. The Association Council also decided that the Czech Republic should participate in the third multi-annual programme for SMEs in the European Union from 1997 to 2000. According to the terms and condition, the Czech Republic will be required to include a minimum number of partners from the Member States, to ensure the Community dimension of the programme, transnational projects and activities proposed. The Czech Republic will pay a contribution each year to the general budget of the European Communities to cover the costs resulting from its participation in the programme. The decision entered into force on the 1 December 1998.
