Commission requires studies on the automotive industry
The Enterprise Directorate-General's automotive industry unit will shortly launch calls for tenders for technical assistance and studies on the following subjects: - technical assistance in the provision of information, analysis, advice and other means of support required for consultations, negotiations and meetings with third countries with a view to facilitating access by European manufacturers of motor vehicles and components to third country markets (90,000 euro); - study on durability requirements in respect of motorcycle exhaust emissions; technical and scientific support required for preparation of legislative proposals (90,000 euro); - study on control technology (including on-board diagnostic systems) for exhaust emissions from heavy-duty vehicles; technical and scientific support required for preparation of legislative proposals (210,000 euro); - study on mass and dimensions of motor vehicles (except category M1) covered by framework Directive 70/156/EEC; assessment of, inter alia, specific safety risks, regulatory difficulties, scope for legislative amendments and cost benefit analysis (75,000 euro); - study on assessment of safety of longitudinal seating in urban and inter-urban coaches and of the level of protection provided by seat belts on such seating (70,000 euro); - Feasibility study on motor vehicle type approved database (50,000 euro).
