Future technology for handheld spark ignition engines - call for tenders
The European Commission's Environment DG has published a call for tenders for an evaluation study of future technology for small handheld spark ignition engines. The purpose of the contract is the compilation of a study, which will address the possible difficulties for certain handheld engines to meet the stage II limit values proposed by the Commission (in COM (2000)840 final). It should describe the technical difficulties and how long lead time is needed for industry to overcome those difficulties. In addition it should present proposals for exemptions that are justified due to those technical difficulties. Preferably such exemptions should be time limited. The study is intended to serve as input for the Commission's considerations on exemptions from the stage II limit values.
