Extension of SYNERGY programme
The Council of the European Union has adopted a Regulation extending the duration of the Community's SYNERGY programme for the promotion of international cooperation in the energy sector. Council Regulation EC No 2598/97 of 18 December 1997 extends to the duration of the SYNERGY programme for a period of one year from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 1998. The extension will ensure the continuity, for 1998, of the action started by SYNERGY, pending the adoption of a Framework Energy Programme. The budget allocated to the programme for 1998 is ECU 5 million.
