Wadliwe lub niebezpieczne dla konsumentów towary są wycofywane z rynku dzięki specjalnym mechanizmom, które zapobiegają szkodom, ograniczają zagrożenie i minimalizują wpływ problemów na ludzi. Ze względu na rosnącą częstotliwość takich sytuacji, producenci towarów ponoszą coraz większe straty. Zespół finansowanego ze środków Unii Europejskiej projektu iComplai skupia się na wspieraniu przedsiębiorstw i spółek w skutecznym monitorowaniu łańcuchów dostaw i produkcji oraz zarządzaniu ich działaniem, co pozwala na ograniczenie obaw związanych z bezpieczeństwem oraz zapobieganie konieczności wycofywania produktów z rynku. Sercem rozwiązania zespołu jest innowacyjna platforma pełniąca rolę systemu wczesnego ostrzegania, która wykorzystuje techniki pogłębionej analizy oraz inne technologie w celu monitorowania i optymalizacji preferencji klientów. Dzięki niej producenci mogą reagować na nowe problemy dotyczące bezpieczeństwa, gwarantując w ten sposób dostawy bezpieczniejszych produktów.

For small companies, it may lead to the end of their operation because they operate without robust cash flow and brand recognition.
In the F&B category, mycotoxins, pathogen contamination and pesticide residues are the most common reasons. Alone in 2021 there has been a YOY increase of 19% in the global recalls.
