Rozwój biotechnologii w obszarze rolnictwa i leśnictwa
Sektory rolnictwa i leśnictwa stają wobec wyzwania, jakim jest zwiększenie odporności na zmianę klimatu i ograniczenie emisji gazów cieplarnianych. Grupy operacyjne EIP AGRI angażują rolników i innych interesariuszy we wspieranie innowacji w rolnictwie i leśnictwie. Finansowany przez UE projekt BBioNets opiera się na pracach grup operacyjnych EIP w zakresie gospodarowania biomasą rolniczą i leśną oraz jej przetwarzania za pomocą technologii opartych na biotechnologii (BBT). Projekt BBioNets stosuje model wielopodmiotowy i potrójnej helisy, tworząc sieci leśne i rolnicze (FAN) w sześciu regionach UE. Sieci FAN rozpoznają lokalne potrzeby, nadają priorytet konkretnym BBT i wspierają dzielenie się wiedzą i praktykami BBT z rolnikami i leśnikami. Takie podejście wzmacnia zrównoważone praktyki i zapewnia Europie czołową rolę w dziedzinie rolnictwa, leśnictwa i biogospodarki.
Cel
In response to the increasing need for grassroots initiatives and knowledge sharing to address major challenges such as climate resilience and increased mitigation of GHG emissions, while supporting zero waste and circular economy with biomass reuse, BBioNets will constitute a thematic network that will rely on, promote, and further advance the work carried out by EIP AGRI Operational Groups (OGs) with respect to management and/or processing of agricultural and forest biomass with Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs). Applying the quintuple helix model and a multi-actor approach both within the consortium itself and on the ground activities, BBioNets will set up 6 regional Forest and Agriculture Networks - FANs (IE, ES, IT, GR, PL, CZ) that will ensure balanced representation of all AKIS stakeholders. FANs will identify local needs and, through co-creation and joint actions, prioritise specific BBTs, benefit from and validate knowledge material developed by the consortium building on previous OG and EU-funded project results. They will assist BBioNets in sharing BBT knowledge ready for practice to farmers and foresters, boosting the (re)definition of value chains, stimulating cross-fertilisation beyond borders, and bringing Europe to the forefront of farming, forestry, and bioeconomy with economically viable and sustainable practices. BBioNets’s solid foundation and strength lies in its partners’ a) wide networks covering the Agriculture, Forestry and Bioeconomy world, b) long-established collaborations with OGs, c) extensive knowledge of bio-based technologies and solutions and d) long experience in awareness raising, knowledge transfer, capacity building, networking and value chain creation services.
