Data Management Plan generated for Pilot on Open Research Data from Task 11Health actions that participates in the ORDPThe Data Management Plan will be generated within 6 months after the project starts for participating in the H2020 Pilot on Open Research Data This plan will be included in the Project Management Plan which will be updated yearly
First publication of SLEEP REVOLUTION project in JSR or other scientific journal as deemed appropriate from Task 121The ESRS publishes one of the principle international scientific journals the Journal of Sleep Research JSR which with an impact factor of 34 is in the top 3 international scientific sleep journals publishing original research
First dissemination of findings from SLEEP REVOLUTION project.First dissemination of findings from SLEEP REVOLUTION project from Task 122OSA is a multisystem disorder that has important cardiometabolic comorbidities which are often not well recognised by health professionals and patients within these disciplines ESRS will play a central role in dissemination of relevant findings from SLEEP REVOLUTION to professional organizations with many sleep apnoea patients cardiology neurology respiratory diabetes obesity within Europe to patient organizations as well as to European societies Such dissemination is facilitated by established intersociety links with other European Societies such as the European Society of Hypertension the ERS and the European Academy of Neurology that have already resulted in the publication of joint position papers on the association of sleep apnoea with important comorbidities such as hypertension 64 and stroke 65 A website for the SLEEP REVOLUTION project will also be setup and linked to the the wwwesrseu website
First project presentation at the ESRS Scientific Congresses.First project presentation at the ESRS Scientific Congresses from Task 121The ESRS holds annual conferences relating to sleep research and medicine The biannual ESRS Congress is the premier scientific congress in Europe relating to sleep research The Sleep and Breathing Congress is a biannual conference held jointly with ERS that is especially focused on education and continuing professional development These events provide the optimum opportunity to present original data arising from research performed in the various WPs of SLEEP REVOLUTION
Translation to different languagesTranslation to different languages from Task 74All applicable text and functions in the DMP as seen by healthcare professionals and research staff will be in English A part of the development strategy of the DMP will make the text easily translated to other languages The translation aspect will therefore be included from the start and translating the DMP to a new language will include the manual labour of working with structured files However for the research subjectpatient relevant text and functions in the DMP will need to be translated into the respective language of different countries participating in WP810 This includes the PROMs in the European Sleep Questionnaire and electronic sleep diary NEH which require translation with the assistance of experienced translators The visualizations of data from the wearables will need some translations for each country which this task will also cover If needed text and functions in relation to the mobile application program by SKH objective daytime testing wearables Withings and ES sleep studies NOX and overall platform will also be translated This may however not be needed in all countries depending on the English proficiency of the population eg not needed in Iceland and we will assess which languages are needed as a part of this task
Deep learning algorithm for automatic estimation of sleep microstructure.Deep learning algorithm for automatic estimation of sleep microstructure from Task 32This deliverable includes the followingTo validate the stateoftheart deep learning methodologies currently being developed for automatic sleep staging by our team The detailed deep learningbased analysis will allow the assessment of a time series analysis of the continuity of sleep microstructure instead of sleep fragmentation definitions based on arbitrary and discrete 30 seconds epochs Finally novel arousal detection will be incorporated into the sleep staging and the effect of arousal length and magnitude to patients wellbeing will be investigated
Respiratory event quantification by an expanded number of potentially important clinical parameters.Respiratory event quantification by an expanded number of potentially important clinical parameters from Task 31The deliverable includes the following quantificationTo quantify respiratory events A by different physiological parameters This includes parameters such as the traditional AHI apnoea and hypopnea length the individual role of apnoeas vs hypopneas snore percentage and duration of total sleep snore loudness flow limitation and breathing effort Different physiological parameters will be assessed to find the most clinically relevant methods of quantifying A
Recommendations for most relevant and information-rich signals to be measured in sleep studies.Recommendations for most relevant and informationrich signals to be measured in sleep studies from Task 53Using the sophisticated deep neural networks for an accurate SDB diagnosis and severity assessment will guide us to select the most informationrich signals and determine the minimum sensor and sampling setups needed This is critically important to optimise the diagnostic sensitivity minimum sensor setup maximal patient comfort and automation of data processing and analysis This information will be used for the final design of the SAS system in WP6 and included in the stateoftheart scoring manual created in WP4 D44
Real-world estimates of long-term costs of OSARealworld estimates of longterm costs of OSA from Task 111This deliverable is to collect relevant data on longterm costs of SDB and OSA using the retrospective data collected in WP3 This data will be utilized to select the most relevant measures and outcomes As the outcomesmeasures are not specific to SDB alone SDBrelated contribution will be extracted by using population attributable factors based on the known prevalence of diseases and increased risks related to SDB and OSA Here the analysed datasets will include at least 1 a longitudinal Kuopio Osteoporosis Risk Factor and Prevention Study OSTPREstudy on more than 14000 aging females followed since 1989 with questionnaires health investigations and registerbased followup and 2 a registerbased Diabetes in Finland FinDMresearch dataset of about one million persons with diagnosed diabetes since 1964
Comparison of unsupervised and supervised learning outcomes for SDB-related co-morbidities.Comparison of unsupervised and supervised learning outcomes for SDBrelated comorbidities from Task 52Here we will to use backpropagation to pinpoint the most relevant signal features utilised by the machine learning approach when predicting the probabilities for OSArelated comorbidities and compare unsupervised to supervised machine learning techniques
Reliability report on automatic and manual scorings.Reliability report on automatic and manual scorings from Task 42The agreement between the automatic analysis approach D41 and manual scorers D42 will be evaluated and submitted in a report
Acute systemic effect quantification by an expanded number of potentially important clinical parameters.Acute systemic effect quantification by an expanded number of potentially important clinical parameters from Task 33The deliverable includes the followingTo expand the selection of parameters for pulse oximetry and ECG data for evaluating the risk of the most common OSArelated comorbidities such as cardiovascular diseases cerebrovascular diseases and metabolic disorders
Establishment of an ethical guardian at each study site from Task 13.2.Due to the complexity of the network involved in this study, an ethical guardian will be appointed to co-ordinate ethical approval application processes in each of the institutions and countries involved in the data collection.
Establishment of the External Ethics Advisory BoardEstablishment of the External Ethics Advisory Board from Task 13.2.a one-person EEAB will be established at the beginning of the project and maintained until the end of the project.
