This report will detail the status of all networking activities up to this point in the project.
D6.1 1st Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Plan (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)This initial plan for dissemination, exploitation and communication will be created by month 6, and then updated at mid-term. Plan will elaborate in detail the goals, target audience, key activities, materials and actions related to dissemination, exploitation and communication of the project and its results.
D1.1 Research Plan (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)This Deliverable will detail the goals for the EDA tool and flow, along with the detailed specifications, so that the EDA software and flow may be delivered at the end of the project. It will include a feasibility study and risk analysis for the software, and an in-depth software specification with all requirements and supported reliability analysis flows.
D3.2 1st Research Management Handbook (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)Based on the best practices and experiences shared during WP3.2 and WP3.3, a plan for upgrading the research management and administration unit at UTH will be defined. This plan will consist of three components:(i) Setting up International Projects Office as a part of the Research Management and Administration Unit at UTH. Existing employees at UTH who have been involved in training activities will constitute the initial team of the International Projects Office. Their role will be to provide support to UTH researchers in the preparation of future project proposals and management of EU projects.(ii) Setting up a network of software tools at UTH in order to improve the agility and efficiency of research management and administration. The selection of the most appropriate tools will be made in consultation with the project partners. The toolset for agile project management employed by IHP will be considered, which includes tools such as IHP Wiki/Confluence, LSF (Load Sharing Facility), Elab (a database for experiment documentation), ENAIO (a project application management tool), Youtrack (to keep record of project progress), Jenkins (a task automation tool). The training on these tools will be provided in WP3.3.(iii) Creating a Research Management Handbook. The knowledge and expertise in research management gained through training will be merged in the form of a document that will provide detailed guidelines for preparation of project proposals and fundamental aspects of project management and administration. This document will also serve as a fundamental user-manual for future employees at UTH.
D4.5 1st Report on Stakeholders Network (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)This report will detail the R&D and Commercial network of all stakeholders of the project, with UTH being the key stakeholder.
D1.2 1st Report on Joint Research (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)The project partners will conduct joint research by combining ongoing research projects, with the aim to advance the state-of-the-art in the design of reliable digital integrated circuits. Key research goals include: (i) investigate the combined impact of transient and permanent fault effects, from device level up to system level, (ii) investigate new algorithms for time-efficient reliability analysis of complex designs, (iii) investigate techniques for cost-effective reliability optimization of complex digital designs, (iii) establish a cross-layer reliability design flow by integrating available fault models, analysis algorithms and optimization techniques, and (iv) verify reliability analysis and optimization results on complex test circuits and different semiconductor technologies.
D4.1 Networking Plan (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)Initially, the partners will define a detailed plan for conducting the networking activities in WP4.2 – WP4.6. This plan will include the tentative schedule for all planned activities, list of possible invited speakers for each event, and details on the partners’ contributions to each event.
D5.1 1st Scientific Collaboration Strategy (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)As a basis for sustainable research excellence at UTH and long-term cooperation among the project partners, a strategy for research activities in the period of 5 years after the TWIN-RELECT project will be defined. The strategy will consist of: (i) Definition of a repository of tools, laboratory facilities, services and know-how that will be shared by all partners in future; (ii) Definition of research topics and directions for future collaboration between the project partners will be defined.
D2.2 1st Report on Scientific Training Activities (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)This task is focused on developing ESRs and building their capacity to engage them in research and provide a basis for long-term research excellence of UTH. The first stage will be to select the young researchers who will be involved in UTH’s team and actively participate in the project. At least 6 early stage researchers from UTH will be selected. For each candidate, two co-supervisors (from UTH and from a partner organization) will be selected. The co-supervisors, together with the selected researchers, will define the research topic and detailed work plan for each researcher. MSc and PhD Theses topics will be defined on the basis of project-related research topics. Early stage researchers will receive both theoretical and hands-on training during activities in WP2.3, WP2.4, WP2.5 and WP2.6, and will be involved in research activities in WP1. Along with the on-site training, online conferencing and webinar sessions will be organized regularly. These sessions will involve the selected early stage researchers and their co-supervisors, and will be aimed at discussing the scientific and technical aspects of their work. The progress of early stage researchers will be regularly evaluated by the co-supervisors twice per year.
D2.1 Scientific Capacity Enhancement Plan (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)A strategy for know-how transfer will be established to define: (i) schedule of all activities in WP2 of the Project, (ii) details of the scientific themes that will be covered during this WP, and (iii) contribution of each partner institution to all planned activities.
D5.4 1st Report on Virtual Knowledge Platform (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)In order to increase the potential of UTH for conducting advanced research and education, but also to enable easier knowledge sharing between the partners and stakeholders during and after the project, all partners will jointly establish a Virtual Knowledge Platform, which will be a part of the project website. The Platform will serve as a repository of literature and documents produced and collected during the project. In addition, the Platform will consist of interactive virtual training exercises for different study levels. The platform will consists of a public space with free access and a private space where only registered users will be able to access.
D3.1 Research Management and Administration Training Plan (odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)A detailed plan for enhancement of UTH’s research management and administration capacity will be defined in the first 4 months. The plan will specify detailed schedule for all activities and responsibilities of each partner.
This task will deal with the technical coordination of the project and will ensure that all proposed activities are carried out according to the predefined plans. The project management will include four main entities:The Project Coordinator (PC), Prof. Christos Sotiriou (UTH), will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project. In particular, the project coordinator will: (i) act as an intermediary between the beneficiaries and the EU Commission (EC), (ii) submit to the EC the periodic reports, project deliverables and financial statements. The Project Management Board (PMB) will be responsible for monitoring the general direction of the project and ensuring the effective completion of all tasks. The PMB will consist of one member from each partner organization, and will be chaired by the PC. The PMB will be responsible for: (i) decisions concerning the work plan and its major changes in the case of unexpected events, (ii) allocation of the budget to the work plan and any financial and budget-related matters, (iii) decisions with regard to any amendment of the terms of the European Commission contract and Consortium Agreement which should prove necessary, (iv) selection of young researchers for participation in the projects, (iv) settling any disputes arising from project implementation, (v) evaluation and approval of press releases and joint publications, (vi) evaluation and approval of technical reports from WP leaders. Members of PMB will meet during other project events and online, and their decision will be based on majority voting, if anonymous decision cannot be reached. The Work Package Leaders Team (WPLT) will assure the coordination of technical work in the respective WPs, and timely execution of the tasks defined in each WP. This Team will communicate any issue to the PMB that requires an action/decision. The WPLT members will meeting online or during other project events. The Project Management Team: UTH will assign a project manager and a finance manager to help the coordinator by managing the day-to-day work of the project: organise meetings, collect information, prepare reports (including reporting to the European Commission), ensure communication between all the partners.
